The Kois Deprogrammer is an oral appliance similar to a retainer that lets our dentist and team examine your bite’s stability. With each chew and swallow, you naturally have to adapt your jaw for the best fit and angle for your teeth. If this fit is not right for the joints and muscles in your jaw and face, you can have a higher risk of facial discomfort, as well as worn, loose or broken teeth.

The Kois Deprogrammer improves your chewing process by preventing the teeth from interlocking, which enhances your existing bite. With a better bite, the lower jaw can relax into a more comfortable position.

With a relaxed lower jaw, our dentist can offer treatments to keep your jaw in its new, ideal state.

How long do I need to use my Kois Deprogrammer?

We usually recommend using the Kois Deprogrammer for about a month. During this time, you should only remove it when eating or cleaning your teeth.

How will my Kois Deprogrammer feel in my mouth?

The Kois Deprogrammer is designed for optimal comfort. After a couple of days, you should be used to speaking normally with it in your mouth. Some report that they initially have discomfort in their chewing muscles, but this normally goes away quickly as the muscles adjust and relax.

Just how much will my bite change?

The physical change to your bite is actually quite small, but the minor adjustment offers a wonderful enhancement to your comfort and efficiency.

If I decide not to proceed with treatment after putting on the Kois Deprogrammer, will my bite remain changed?

No, your joints and muscles will readjust to your original bite within a couple of hours of taking the Kois Deprogrammer out of your mouth.

How do I take care of my Kois Deprogrammer?

Clean your Kois Deprogrammer whenever you brush or floss. Use a small amount of toothpaste and your toothbrush to carefully clean the device and rinse with warm water. Whenever the Kois Deprogrammer comes out of your mouth, you should store it in its case.
